In a modern video blog adaptation, of Wilde's classic 'The Importance of Being Earnest' we follow the perspective of Gwendolen Fairfax. Too rich for her own good, bored and cynical, Gwen starts a weekly vlog on the recommendation of her therapist Dr Chasuble. Not very tech-savvy, Gwen involves a group of film students to edit for her. In her weekly updates, Gwen faces together with her best friend Al(gernon Moncrieff) that abyss called real life with its societal norms, dominant mothers, and constant lack of Moet and cucumber sandwiches, while Gwendolen discovers that she is anything but insignificant. Gwen's life drastically changes when Al tries to set her up with a man called Ernest Worthing and another woman, Cecily Cardew, is forcefully thrown upon her.

The father, who took his own life at a similar age, tries to dissuade his son from doing the same. The action takes place in two timelines: before the storm and after the storm. In this humorous and surprising story about love and disappointment, we gradually discover what drives the protagonist to take such a desperate step. Figures from the past evoke memories. At the same time, an ambitious local police officer conducts an investigation. He is convinced that the man was murdered. The story leads to an unexpected conclusion. Despite the tragic ending, the spirit of F.P. decides to remain on Earth and watch over his daughter.
